Abex Plus 100 ml Syrup: Each 5 ml syrup contains Guaifenesin BP 100 mg, Levomenthol BP 1.1 mg & Diphenhydramine HCl BP 14 mg.

Abex Plus Syrup is a mixture of expectorant, decongestant and antihistamine. Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It helps to loosen mucus in chest and throat caused by common cold, infections, or allergies. Levomenthol helps to breathe more easily by relieving congestion. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. It is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, hives, skin rash, itching & other cold or allergy symptoms.

Abex Plus is indicated for the symptomatic relief of upper respiratory tract disorders accompanied by productive cough.

For children 12 years above and adults; 10 ml in every 6 hours interval, 4 times a day.

This combination is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Guaifenesin, Levomenthol or Diphenhydramine. If Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) have been taken in the last two weeks this combination should not be taken. This combination is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

Patients suffering from liver, kidney & prostate problems should avoid this combination. Alcohol must be avoided. If any other medicines like minor Tranquilisers, Barbiturates, Codeine are taken, caution should be exercised. Patients taking this combination need to be careful while driving or operating machinery.

Side effects may include swelling of the face, lips and/or tongue, allergic reactions, numbness, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, dry mouth/nose/throat, nausea or vomiting etc.

There are no specific data on use of this combination during pregnancy & lactation.

Taking certain Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) with this medication may cause a serious (possibly fatal) drug interaction. If any other medicines like minor Tranquilizers, Barbiturates and Codeine are taken, caution should be exercised.

In cases of over dosage, hospital admission is strongly advised. An overdose of this preparation may result in drowsiness, blurred vision, increased heart rate, confusion. Other symptoms may include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, unsteadiness, high blood pressure & hallucinations.

Protect from light, store in a cool and dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.

Abex Plus Syrup: Each box contains a PET bottle of 100 ml syrup with a measuring cup.
